- Poke Ball (regular)
- Great Ball
- Ultra Ball
- Master Ball
- Premier Ball
- Beast Ball
Keep reading about each of the balls with a detailed explanation.
Poke Ball (regular)
This is your regular, classic white and red Poke Ball. This is the most basic ball among all Poke Balls and the lowest tier when it comes to capturing Pokemon. You can use this to catch wild Pokemon like Ratata, Weedle, etc.
You get 50 of these when you create your account and receive more as a reward when you level up from level 2 to level 11.
You can also purchase these from the shop.

Great Ball
Great Balls are second in the list among the various types of Poke Balls. They significantly boost your chances of catching wild Pokemon by 50%. These balls are ideal for capturing mid-level wild Pokemon without wasting too many of your regular Poke Balls.
You can start using Great Balls once you reach level 12. Upon reaching this level, you’ll receive 20 of them for free, and you can also get more by spinning photo discs. Additionally, you’ll earn more Great Balls as you level up from 12 to 19.
Ultra Ball
This is a very high-performing Poke Ball and way better than a great ball. This increases the chances of you capturing the Pokemon a lot more. The chance of you catching a wild Pokemon with this ball is 100%.
A trainer unlocks Ultra Balls upon reaching level 20 and is given 20 of them for free. After that, the game continues to reward you with additional Ultra Balls as you level up from 20 to 40. You can also obtain them by spinning photo discs.
Master Ball
Master Ball Pokemon Go allows you to catch a Pokemon without fail. It was released as a part of the “Let’s Go! Special Research” event.
What’s special about these balls is that you can use them during encounters like the Premier Balls.
You can get these from Let’s Go! Special Research, Timed Investigation: Master Ball Pokemon Go, Special Research: Master Ball Pokemon Go, and Masterwork Research: Catching Wonders.
Premier Ball
This is a unique type of ball that is awarded and can only be used for capturing a raid boss. You cannot store them in your backpack, and they are only available during the raid event.
The capturing rate of a premier ball is the same as a regular Poke Ball.
Beast Ball
And finally, we have the Beast Ball. From its name, you can understand that it is a special kind of ball for beasts, right? This ball can only be used for catching Ultra Beasts.
These balls have a very high chance of capturing a Pokemon, and just like Premier Balls, any extra balls after the event are removed and cannot be stored.
